Lead Carpenter

The Lead Carpenter is responsible for daily operations on the job site and ensuring quality control throughout the project. They will communicate daily with their Project Manager for updates and support in getting their work done. The Lead carpenter should posses:

  • 5+ years of experience in high end residential construction

  • Strong ability to read plans and specifications and request information from Project Manager to get clarifications and resolve discrepancies

  • Strong carpentry skills in layout, framing, siding, interior trim and cabinet/millwork installation

  • Strong working knowledge of building trades (masonry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc) and how to communicate and monitor the work of subcontractors in these trades

  • Strong organizational skills: ability to keep the job site organized and clean

  • Strong communication skills: ability to positively communicate with the Client, Designers, Code Officials, Subcontractors, and Suppliers and keep their Project Manager up to date on their progress and needs

  • Strong leadership skills: ability to lead a small team of carpenters and laborers in executing carpentry tasks and delegate tasks

  • Compensation based on experience: starting at $35/hr

  • 5 paid holidays, 10 days paid vacation

  • MDB covers insurance and workmen’s compensation

  • Mileage allowance

  • Carpenter to provide hand tools and basic power tools; MDB to provide larger tools (ladders, table saw, miter saws, etc.)
